2012 Parent Social Details

Lacrosse Parents,

The 2012 Parent Social is Saturday, March 10th at 7:00 PM. This is a tradition that began when the program started in 2004. The social will be hosted by Dan and Shari Yinger, parents of Max and Tucker. Directions to their home are below. Please bring an appetizer to share and your own beverage.

As our program is self-supporting, parents must contribute time and talents to make it successful. Bruce McClary will be coordinating the volunteer efforts, and will have sign up sheets available that evening.

Spirit wear will also be available for viewing. Bring your checkbook and order your spirit wear for the season.

From the north, take SR161 east from I270 towards Granville. Exit onto Beech Road (first exit past US 62 New Albany) and turn right (south) traveling to Morse Road. Turn left (east) onto Morse Road, travel about 1 1/2 mile, turn right (south) onto Headleys Mill Road (CR 28). Travel about 1 1/2 miles turn left onto Hollow Road, this is the second road on the left. In about 2/10 of a mile, turn left on Green Hollow Road. The Yinger’s is the yellow house on the right, 200 Green Hollow Road SW, Pataskala, OH 43062. If you need to be redirected while en route, call the Yinger’s at 740-927-3440.

Practice Starts – Season Opener Nearing

Greetings,

With the upcoming season starting in 11 days, there are some events that will be taking place before our practice start date of 2/27. We will be meeting as a team on 2/23 and 2/24 at the school from 5-7:15pm. This is mandatory for all of the players who will be playing this season. Returning varsity players will also be meeting on Saturday morning at 10am, the location is yet to be determined. Players are to bring a notebook and paper to the team meetings on Thursday and Friday.

Our practices will be from Monday – Friday, 5:00pm – 7:15pm and on Saturdays from 11am-1pm. We will be lifting next week on Weds and Thursday at normal times and then we will be lifting one day a week once the season starts. During spring break, we WILL be practicing all week as we have games during that time. The boys will have off Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter weekend. Everything will resume at normal times the following Monday.

We will be having our team night at Midwest Lacrosse on Tuesday 2/21 from 5pm until close. Simply wear DeSales gear and you will receive a 10% discount on any equipment needs you may have. I still have a few custom gloves available – please let me know asap if you would like to reserve a pair.

Boy’s Lacrosse – Fundraiser for Casino Royale

Like last year Kathleen McGuire will be hosting a jewelry party that will benefit boy’s lacrosse and the silent auction basket for Casino Royale. Below is an invitation for the party to be held at the McGuire’s house on March 4th and a second attachment showing the new lacrosse charm available March 1st. Please consider attending, as proceeds will go towards funding baskets put together by Boy’s Lacrosse to be auctioned off at the SFD Casino Royale event in April.

Greetings all,
I hope you had a great Christmas. Below is the remaining indoor schedules for JV and Varsity. PAY ATTENTION to the changes in dates, as the JV games will not all be on a Tuesday.

This will be in addition to the weight room workouts starting the week right after break on Mondays, Weds, and Thursdays from 3:15 – 4:00pm and open gyms on Tuesday nights from 9 – 10pm. We have the facility until 10:30 and will be helping individuals for the last half hour who want help.

Season is only 9 weeks away, our success will be determined before the season starts.

2012 Open Gym

Open Gym for the boys Lacrosse team will begin Tuesday January 3rd and end Tuesday February 21st. Each session will be from 9 – 10:30 pm at the SuperKicks Sports Complex. Here is the schedule for your reference.

All,

I second Coach Triplet’s congratulations to the five players receiving All-State honors. They have all earned this recognition through personal hard work and the support of their teammates during the season.

Coach missed one honoree, join me in congratulating Coach Triplet on receiving the Division II All-State Coach of the Year Award!! This too is a HUGE honor!

On behalf of the Lacrosse Board, we are proud of what all of our young men and coaches accomplished this past season.

I know you are looking forward to the banquet tomorrow night but I wanted to recognize our players that have received post season accolades. The All-Ohio voting came out this weekend during the championship games and the players below received All-Ohio recognition. This is a HUGE honor and I am so proud of the boys and how much they have achieved this season!

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for representing our school with tremendous pride and class this year. As I told the team after the game Saturday the growth and recognition of our program in such a short time is truly remarkable. I would like to thank each of you for the role you have played to create such a positive environment for our young people.

Hello everyone . . . Below is the invitation to the SFD Boys Lacrosse Banquet. Please print the RSVP portion and bring it to the D2 Regional Final game Saturday night (7:30pm on May 28 at Dublin Jerome) or mail it to me or bring your check to the banquet on June 7th. We will be accepting checks at the door and you can RSVP to me by email. If you have questions or concerns please call me or email me this weekend.

I also need to collect a small amount from each family for the coaches’ gifts. You can give this money to Jennifer McClary or Lynn Slomsky at the D2 Regional Final game or include the gift amount with your banquet payment.
